Why would you need this tool if they changed head design and sparkplugs on 08 models?

Exactly...Still waiting for this "new info". Probably a normal spark plug socket like I used on mine when I wanted to take a peek.

Nope, new tool is used to clean and bond the porcelain for removal. Then you use the "old" tool to complete the ground shield removal.

The plugs on my 08 are a one-piece. I pulled one when reading about the redesigned head/plugs. That said, what are you talking about?

I am talking about the new tool referred to in the TSB. The new TSB says it covers 08 model year F150 as well. How does that redesigned plug compare with the original design? Did they change anything else beside making it a one-piece type?

From the information DearbornDerek posted at the time, I believe the cylinder head/plug change came at the middle of October last year. That would seem to indicate that the early 08's have the older head design.
