Making My Own Diesel Fuel

I've been looking for alternative options to $4.10 petroleum diesel.

My son found a website Diesel Secret Energy - Alternative Biofuel Biodiesel that sells a kit to make fuel using 87% vegetable oil and their additive.Total of $0.46 per gallon. No conversion needed!

My son is 15, and is really fired up about making diesel fuel. (Me too!)

Anybody heard about this, used it?

Bad Link

My original post has an incorrect link on the word DIESEL. It will direct you to a site that has nothing to do with my subject. Dieselsecret.com is the correct address.

Sorry I don't have an answer for you. There are a few on this forum that are using/making bio-diesel but there is a forum dedicated to alternative fuels here on FTE. Very knowledgeable people:

Bio-diesel, Propane and Alternative Diesel Engine Fuels - Ford Truck Enthusiasts Forums

Here's one of their answers to your question:

Their mix is with RUG.
The secret additive is supposed to bind (mix) the VO and RUG.

Ya, there's a consensus that its snake oil...
Either way, i'd look at a WVO system or Biodiesel, Depending on your driving habits, vehicles and available time.
You'd also have better luck in the alternative fuels section, although Fabman right above me here is the resident expert of that area...

If it looks to good to be true..............it usually is!

There are 2 ways to do it RIGHT. Build yourself a prosessor and make your own QUALITY Biodiesel, OR, convert your truck over to run a HEATED veggie oil system [ like the veggie-stroke system]

Using unheated veggie oil is a chance that I will not take with my $$$$$$$$$$ diesels, just not worth the risk IMHO.

X2 to what he said.
If you were to try to run unheated WVO, you'd be looking at a whole new motor, wouldnt you?
At minimum i would expect injectors, fuel pump, and maybe turbo or upper cylinder issues( which might as well be a new motor, honestly.)
