So my roomate has a duramax, sadly. but on his forum he had a guy talkin about someone suckin the diesel out of his truck and replacing it with gasoline. he thinks its the greenies tryin to mess with us cuz we drive big diesels. well if it happened to me id pry kill someone, cuz i got 32 gallons of that precious stuff sittin in my truck so im off tomorrow to get locking gas caps. and if someone was actually gonna go thro all that trouble to suck out diesel, id rather they left it empty rather than putgas into it. damn greenies!

 

I have a bed tank and just put locks on it (filler cap and nozzle) because I am leary of folks tampering with it (stealing fuel or just messing with it). I think its a wise choice...$10 for the locks to save $100+ of fuel or worse if they throw stuff in your tank.

 

i think i would have to choke, maim, or dismember anyone who thought about doing something like that to my truck....

 

yeah i know what you mean i've seen trucks come through our shop with thousands of dollars worth of repairs because of stuff like that, but its not just thieves, one guy let his wife fill up his diesel f350, she filled the hole tank with gasoline, oops.

 

i am the only person i allow to fuel my truck for just that reason....if i mess up and do it, i can only be mad at my self. but i would hate to have to get that mad at a friend. ya know?

 

yea i know what ya mean, im the only one allowed to fill er up, i mean i even double check everytime i fill up just to make sure its diesel. i dont wanna take the chance of fillin it up with gas.

 

i have in fact almost put diesel in my car. good thing the diesel nozzle dont fit in the filler neck of the car.

 

yeah i think i'd be pretty pretty choked, i mean it was a brand new diesel at that, and the worst part was it isn't covered under warranty, but he was lucky it only cose him the pump and the injectors.

oh yea. after beating him, i would probably go beat his dad and b@ng his mom. just to add insult to injury haha

 

well theres been cases where guys have had diesel put in there gas truck tanks

 

i was just used to filling with diesel. (hadn't been driving the car much) just out of instinct reached for the green handle. almost had a focus full of diesel. no good

 

no it wouldn't be good, i don't even think it would run, atleast gasoline cleans the injectors on a diesel before reaking havok

 

Somethings fishy about that story, why would the "Greenies" or anyone suck diesel out and put gas in the tank. A thief would just take the fuel. A Greenie would just set the truck on fire or add gas to the existing diesel...nope, they'd just burn it. Is there any damage to the engine??

 

I am sure thats what happen,,,,,,,the Greenies came to town under the cover of darkness w/ 6 full cans of gas and 6 emptees for the wicked diesel sucked out the wicked in put in the friendly gas and then dissappeared into the night,,,,,,,, Taught that nasty diesel truck owner a lesson,,,, I bet things like this are happening all the time over there in Duramax land
