I only get cold air for 10 minutes when I use MAX a/c then compressor shuts down. Regular air only blows hot all the time. I've tried the trick for the door. It didn't seem to work. The door seems it may be jambed? I still only get hot with regular a/c. While trying the trick is when I noticed that the compressor was shutting down after ten minutes.
I do not have gauges to find out low or high pressure.
I just replaced upper and lower rad hoses, and rad cap. Temp is in the normal range.
Do I have more than one problem, or many on this A/C problem?
The truck has more problems than this, but it runs good.
I live in Florida where it is starting to get HOT.
Next weekend planning on replacing upper and lower ball joints on both sides. I just received the parts.
1998 Mazda B-3000 X-cab 2wd 373ls 173000 miles. Two months ago I bought it for $1000.00.
You'll will be hearing from me, This truck has more problems, but it does runs good and looks good, for the money.
Working with out gauges on A/C is like doing electrical work with out a test light. I would question why the compressor shuts off. A low charge would make it cycle on & off. I would take it to an A/C shop and have it checked, it may save you money in the long run. Greg
A lot of recharge kits, roughly $35 will have a charge gauge to at least tell you where your charge is at, if it is undercharged you'll have a can of refrigerant with the kit, make sure it is the right kind. If that is too much see if someone on craigslist has one you can borrow or buy on the cheap.
