EBP Sensor and Tube Cleaning FYI
I followed Guzzle's instructions at the link below. I was not sure how much a blocked tube/sensor could reduce your performance and MPG or even if mine was blocked but I decided to do this as a preventive measure.
Welcome to guzzle's Exhaust Backpressure Sensor Cleaning Maintenance Web Page
I discovered my tube mostly blocked and the end of the sensor and bracket completely blocked. Followed the instructions just as written and it worked well. The only other things I did was to add a little high temp anti-seize compound to the threads of the tube fittings to make it a little easier next time. Also on my 02 I found it easier to remove the three screws holding the radiator over flow tank an move it over a little. Made the access a little easier. Didn't take the hoses loose, there was enough slack to get the tank out of the way. I also used a .22 caliber gun cleaning brush to clean the sensor bracket.
I'll soon find out if it makes a difference and I'll let you know what I find out.

I know this may be dumb question, so please don't take my PSD away from me. But, I just broke my EBP tube (had a crack in it and was totally clogged) and need to replace it.
My question is: will it hurt anything to run the truck with out the tube in place for a short distance like maybe less than 100 miles?
Just wanting to know cause I cant get one till Monday and I need to go to town to get some paint and lumber.

Hey guys i have been having problems with black soot residue on the p/s front area of my motor for a while now. Iam wondering if the EBP tube runs on that side of the motor and may have some pin holes in it alowing some soot to blow out of the tube?? Iam going to have to look into this.
thanks
