Help! Where can I find these tie rod ends?
Hi guys. I need some suggestions on where to find the following tie rod ends, preferably online.
(Data from Elgin Industries catalog.)
(Data from Elgin Industries catalog.)
- ES3269R - suits Chev C70 '90-'94 with 8000lb axle.
- ES2036RT - suits Ford Louiville L & LT '75-'97 with 9000lb axle.

Ford shows 12 different tie rod end part numbers just for 1980/89's with a 9M front axle.
greaseable/non greaseable // with air brakes/without airbrakes
Then there are the different models 600 / 700 / 800, etc.
I didn't look at '75/79 or '90/97 yet, but knowing Ford, there will be even more part numbers for those years.
Sorry: If you can't be more specific, I can't help you.

You're absolutely right of course. Ford used this one on several models over several years.
I hope these links work so you can see what I've found:-
Elgin Industries : Online Catalog (Part no. lookup)
Elgin Industries : Online Catalog (Tech details)
I think it was always with air brakes but not certain.
Used on:-
'96-'98 8500 & 9500 series with 12000lb and 13000lb axles
'75-'94 B series with 9000lb axle
'84-'98 B series with 8000lb axle
'75-'90 B series with 7500lb axle (only this part size used on this model)
'75'-'90 C & CT series with 9000lb axle
'75-'94 F & FT series with 9000lb axle
And plenty more.....
It measures 5.86" long, shank has 1"-16tpi thread, stud major diameter is 0.905", stud minor diameter is 0.783" and the stud thread is 0.75"-16tpi. What I don't know is the taper or distance between the major and minor diameters. This would be useful for me so I can get the appropriate reamer and so on. Hopefully it will have the same taper as the Chev part!
As for why I specifically want these parts? I'm building my own steering system to use on a '06 model F250 4WD. The sizes of the bosses and the existing holes in them only allow for them to be machined out to suit the above parts. I've got to do it right to be able to pass rego inspection.
The Chev part is 5.02"long, same threads as the Ford part, major diameter of 1.024", and minor diameter of 0.915".
Hope this all helps. Appreciate the effort.

I've just found this link to a fairly good cross-reference catalog:-

Found the Ford one under 3 different part numbers and also 16 other manufacturer's!

A big thankyou to everyone that took the time to help me out.
Both rockauto.com and SBP had both parts listed (ftepartsguy.com didn't have the chev part). And I have ordered from rockauto. They were half the price, very comprehensive online catalog and their service has been great. Shipping oversea's was a bit dear, so I got the parts sent to a friend of mine in Texas and he'll post them on to me.
More often than not, it's who you know, not what you know that makes all the difference.
Thanks fellow forum members.
