How much did you pay for your truck?

On mine... the window sticker said $9250.00 this was on May 21st 1978 and Ford didn't have all these rebates back then like they do now.One might get them down $400-$500 bucks but that would be it
I bought it for $6250.00 a week later.
The reason: The New Car manager was my friends uncle and I was the photographer for 3 of his kids wedding over the previous few years.
He basically gave me a $1000.00 for each kids wedding and he paid the dealership the difference himself. But he also gave me me ton of other stuff in the form of merchandise and extended warranty at no charge plus a full tank of gasoline at $0.98 gallon

$1400 about 5 years ago.. or 8.. or something, I keep forgetting.
Anyways, it was decent when I got it. Rebuilt engine, strong tranny, good body.
I treated it badly and ended up letting it sit. After 3 years of sitting, crossed spark plug wires and most fluids empty it started right up with a fresh tank of gas.
Since then I've not been able to stop myself, the jobs are getting more involved, more expensive and I'm getting a lot more ambitious. When I started I didn't know how to change oil..
the sitting has taken its toll though, truck definitely wasn't a $1400 truck when I started working on it. It's still got some major issues, but the work is getting done.

i got frank and my donor plus extra 460 motor for a 96 f-150 4x4 with tranny problems. paid 4500.00 for the 96 and never liked it after about a week of having it. i was looking to sell it and a buddy told me about frank sittin in a driveway not far from his house so i went to look at it and asked the guy if he would be interested in a trade? he said he would throw in the rest so we traded even.

super camper special
i paid 4,600 for my 1978 f-350 as a fire truck off a fire appartus company.
truck was a single rear wheel and had a utility bed on it at the time. so i
set out and found the correct bed for it and drove 5000 miles round trip
to pick this bed up. installed the bed and put it in the body shop. another
$6200 later it came out one color with new windsheild, front and rear bumpers, sliding back glass and weather stripping. not to mention all the mechanical work done to the truck in between, rebuilt carb. new 4 core
radiator, fix exhaust leaks, sealed valve covers, install various belts and
hoses, fuel filter(s), removed fuel tank and flushed. had all the super camper special brackets bead blasted and painted a polyurethane black. still work in
progress, but lovin every minuted of it.
