Wednesday i started to remove the old transmission from the old truck to replace with a good used replacement and hopefully have reverse again. got it in the garage and set it on jack stands, drained fluid . Continued on it yesterday and will hopefully have it out by the end of the day today. First i got to do some earns before going back to working on the trans removal. woo hoo.

I ended up redoing the front end of my wifes 01 explorer this past weekend. I've never done anykind of suspension work so this was a leaning experience. I replaced the hubs, upper control arms with ball joints, lower ball joints, inner and outer tie rods, and sway bar end links. Oh and 2 new tires. I also never realized there were so many adjustments to make sure everthing is "close" to where it was. Lets just say i had a slow wild ride to the alignment shop monday morning. At least the guy doing the alignment laughed and said "no worries, I've seen worse" But, she drives and steers like a new car and the wife is very happy.

1994 F-150 4.9L 4x4

Bought this in early March 2014.

So far:

Fixed vacuum lines on engine and HVAC systems

Replaced thermostat on the engine

Replaced the pump and solenoid pack in the E40D transmission.

More to come...

Pulled the 91 out of the garage and drove it. Fusion gets better mileage but truck is so much more fun to drive.

yeah.there are no f250 LD trucks through the 9th gen era (92-96/97hd.) all 250's were f350 platform based trucks.
(there was one offered in '97 but it was a 10th gen f-series. along with the hd in old body style form.)

Washed the mud off Michelle yesterday and picked up some filters.

Air Filter PN# R88174
PCV Filter PN# 88976

Both are Car-Quest part numbers.

Picked up some 1/4'' x 3/4" bolts/nuts/washers to "Retrofit" the airbox lid. The OEM "Sleeves" that the bolts actually bolt into, to close the box up, had stripped, seized or what have you and now I'm just gonna use good old nuts and bolts to replace them.

Here's what I started with:

New PCV hose installed:

And how I'm putting the airbox back together:

The old Air Filter from the JY intake box:

My Fan Shroud is back in place finally:

Picked up some new-to-me tires today. Michelin LTX A/T2, 285/70R17. 75% tread, and 2012 date codes. Came off an '07 Ram whose owner upsized his tires. For $125, I couldn't pass them up!

I still need to replace the TTB pivot bushings, radius arm bushings, and get an alignment done.

Thumbs up

Moved about 80 half burried logs with it and leveled a piece of my property with my plow! Have to top it off with some fill and seed, but what a difference!
Love this truck, it takes anything I throw at it!
