You keep spare keys in there? I don't know if I would do that, but I think I might put a wire coat hanger in. I can get into my truck in seconds with one of those.
I don't have a tool box. A lot of stuff is behind the seat but I also carry some of it under the hood. Spare tire is mounted upright in the left front corner of the bed. Chain is hooked into the wheel while the shovel, wheel chock and oh yes an old kitchen broom are wedged behind the tire bracket. I keep keys hid in odd places. I've been driving tow trucks as a second income since I was in my teens. There is no such thing as having too much emergency equipment. One just has to be inventive in finding places to put it.

Talking It was a good weekend...

Over the weekend, I replaced the entire front braking system. I had snapped off both bleeder screws (rust-welded) in both calipers last weekend while bleeding the system after rebuilding the drum brakes. I got to take apart the manual-locking hubs, calipers, caliper frames, and the hub-disc assembly. I also put in new seals and repacked the bearings while everything was out. The spindles looked really good, too. I had bought new wheel studs and had to knock out the old ones, move the hub to the new rotor, and press-fit the new wheel studs using a lug nut, a stack of old washers, and my Snap-on cordless impact gun (CT6850; best tool in my toolbox). I wanted to replace the brake hoses, so I did that as well. Putting everything back together was uneventful and the bleeding was a breeze. I have a Motive Products brake bleeder and I'll tell you what...it's the best thing to come along since sliced bread. Last weekend, while rebuilding the drum brakes, I noticed that I'd broken a leaf in the passenger rear spring pack. It snapped just past the axle U-bolts, so most of it is still held in place. The other piece seems to have moved away and was sticking out between the other leaves. I welded a bead to the leaf below it along both sides to hold it in place temporarily until the new set that I just ordered comes in. That'll be my next project!

regardless of what sidewinder says. At 9am, I enjoyed that quite a bit.

I've seen those toolboxes in the older broncos before. I think I've seen a few guys on FSB find them at junk yards and put them on newer models if I remember correctly.

took mine off road today, after owning the baja claws for 3years they impressed me for the first time today. didnt notice the performance of them on the wrangler but after i actually used them on my truck they impressed and surprized me in what i thaught was going to be a few sticky situations. also the otherday i grabbed some eddie plastics off a dash in the junk yard and some $4 wipers at wallyworld. unfortunatly i still havent found my mirrors yet.
