I didn't do it but I had a shop perform a compression test and an oil pressure test in order to see what the overall condition of my engine is. I have an intermittent leak from the water pump so i wanted to know if it was going to be worth it to change the water pump and the timing gears and chain. It looks like my engine is tired (275,000 Km) but good to go so I will be ordering the parts soon.

Took the drivers door apart and fixed the issues. The speaker grill was falling out, all the panel clips were broken or missing, the armrest was broken and falling apart, the moisture barrier was gone, and it rattled.

That was the easy door, will fix the passenger door next week. Same stuff but I need to replace the power window motor and the power lock actuator also. Have the parts so it will just be time.

Been dealing with an '88 5.8L that was really hard starting and eventually wouldn't fire up at all. Broke one spark plug trying to get it out to check - ended up doing a full tune up with Motorcraft parts. Now it fires up almost as fast as a well tuned carbureted car. Amazing what some simple parts can do.

Yep it was a set that looked identical to this:

Now the rotor and cap were NAPA shelf brand but the plugs and wires were Motorcraft. So half true (oops).

I used mine as intended to bring home a new Air Compressor from Home Depot.

It was a bit on the awkward side to unload alone. Don't think it was 118 pounds like the box claimed though.

Managed to balance a 400# nv5600 on a very tiny floor jack with transmission adapter and get it under my truck and bolted to the 24v ctd.

All fingers and appendages accounted for

Time for a beer

Thanks to my buddy Dave!

Oil change, tire rotation, t case fluid change, greased chassis, replaced front wheel bearings, swapped the popup camper for the flatbed. Ready for more winter after a little break down in Arizona.

Went to the pick n pull today and picked up the plug for the clutch neutral bypass switch. Installed it and, voila, my truck started right away. So I guess I'll be taking care of that when I take care of the timing gears/chain and water pump. Still have to order the parts.

Finally got the Speedo back from Autometer for programming the trucks actual mileage on it so I was able to get rolling on the project again.

Next on the list was mockup.

Took some pictures during the process so you could see the warning indicators I was using as well as the location points

Was only able to accomplish this today because I still have to go out and get the primer and paint for the sheet metal bezal and the fact that the wife and I had to prep for Christmas.

Having Christmas with both sides of the family this year at our place.....................again.
