Nice. 2 Stroke FTW! Whats that, mid 80s vintage?
Yes sir, 1987.

Nice bike. I just sold an 03 YZ250R. Yamaha is producing them again finally.
That's good to hear. Love the 2 strokes, so much easier to work on!

Right?!?!

When all else fails, $125-$150 for a new piston kit and a half a day of time.

Did the valve cover gasket, was completely blow out at the back. Decided to go with studs over bolts. Everything came apart and went together well except for snapping off both of the EGR bolts...

Also did the thermostat for the second time. First one was opening too early and not letting the engine build heat. Never seen one do that before, but it was a cheap one from Autozone. Put a Motorcraft in and all is well now.

Well I made a trip to the junkyard, and I remember the place being much better than it is now. Everything was pretty picked through. I got a harness for my license plate lights and a center mount brake light as mine is melted.

I then went home and pulled the throttle body off my truck as I still have the slightest misfire, so I figured for the cost of gaskets it wouldn't hurt. So I pulled it and sure enough it was filthy. I cleaned the IAC, the throttle body and as far into the intake as I could. I put it all back together, And I guess I didn't realize how much cleaner I sprayed into the intake, because I think it's pretty flooded. It barely ran and stumbled like hell. So I propped open the throttle plate and I'll let the cleaner evaporate overnight, hopefully it'll be fine by morning. Guess I'll be doing an oil change soon.

I had two fender braces replaced today. The pair in the front of the rear fenders had cracked in two so I had them replaced. Nice to have solid bedsides now.

I replaced my serpentine belt on my '90 XLT, and listened to a little bit of a Mr. T Experience tape (Love Is Dead) on the tape player, it's a promotional item not for resale that I won on Ebay. The truck is the only working tape player I have now, so I broke out all my old homemade tapes from the '90s. Waiting for the title to come in so we can put it in my name and start driving it.

(Also rolled around on the ground under my '82 Mark VI with the '97 Grand Marquis disc brake rear swap, test-fitting a '91 Crown Vic Police Car rear swaybar)

I pulled the clutch and brake pedal box from the cab. I was going to replace all of the bushings today and reinstall it BUT the clutch rod end was already going oblong (the clutch and slave cylinder are less than two years old) so I ordered the heim joint fix from eBay. I will repair everything at the same time so I don't have to pull the box again. It only took an hour and a half to get it out but it was not fun.
Maybe I'll pull the front seat when I reinstall it.

In spite of the rain, put in backup camera. Works great, will make hooking up camper a breeze.

Painted mirrors and mounts gloss black with a nice gloss clear coat. Flat black is so 2000. Anyway, it’s part of my evil plan to have tasteful black contrast to the white. Next up is black bed rail and tail gate protectors, black tails, and some clear lens, but black backed headlight and front markers.

Mirrors look good, agree I'm way over flat black. I have some winter wheels on my car that are plasti dipped black, but it's really a matter of function over looks. That stuff really does hold up and keeps those steel wheels from rusting.

Did you do the tint yourself? That's exactly what I am looking to do for mine. Looks like 20%?

I looked for these too and found they were a lot harder to source than the typical chrome backed ones, but they look so much better. In fact, I ordered a complete set and it showed up with only the headlights, so it was basically useless to me. They refunded my money and told me to keep the headlights. If anyone is interested in those I would let them go for the cost of shipping. They're just taking up space in the garage at this point.

No. I got a guy. That's 5% all around. Not legal but crucial in Phoenix summers.

That's fortunate, looks great. I bet the sun is brutal out there.

Sure, I'll try and get some later today.

Yeah, getting the AC running was a priority. With the regular cab and tint, it’s pretty amazing. Especially when moving.
