Not what I did to... But what I did with...

Hauled this load of firewood from my grandparents' house to mine - about a 10 mile back road trip. She's a worker for sure! I was surprised how good the truck performed - considering my dad was planning on picking it up with his GMC 3500 dually he said there's no way a FORD could handle the load! Anyone wanna take a guess on what this load weighed - I'd like to know myself. The wood is dry seasoned hardwood.

Should've seen the look on my pop's face when I rolled up the driveway - priceless!!!

'06 F-150 was having an issue with the parking brake. So I hopped in the '95, but she refused to fire up. Around midnight, I ended up swapping out the coil for a new MSD Blaster TFI coil, and now we are back business.

Put some tech into the old I6. Sound system in! 6.5" rounds up front, 6x9s in the back, Kenwood bluetooth receiver and 10" sub behind the seat. Wal-Mart special but works and sounds great.

Just bought this 1988 F150 XLT Lariat. Needs a front bumper, bumper filler or rock guard (piece that goes in between bumper and headlights), left fender and left door.

Small chore today . . .

Installed new headlight assemblies in the '97 F250HD. The old ones were oxidized inside and out with loose reflector shields in both shells. The cash came from a Christmas Present from the missus. She got tired of my complaining about not seeing . . . stuff . . . at night.

I bought TYC brand CAPA-certified off Amazon, cost about $91 to the door. They came with Sylvania bulbs so they will do until I can get my Vosla +100 bulbs and headlight harness kit.

Still needs some fine tuning on the alignment but overall, I'm pleased with the new great lighting and it makes the truck look better, too.

For the record, the two nuts holding the bottom of the marker light assemblies were 11mm, the two bolts holding the upper marker light were 11mm and the adjuster hex ends are 4mm.

Engine rebuild

I recently rebuilt the 302 in my truck and I'm having problems dialing it in. It's a MAF 95 F150 4X4 302 with the 4r70w trans. I had the motor bored .030 over and rebuilt it with forged rods and forged speed pro pistons that raise the compression to 10:1. I put a comp XE270-14 cam in it and a set of aluminum AFR 165 heads with 1.6 rr. To top it off I used an Edelbrock performer truck intake and a set of 36lb injectors. Base timing is set at 16 degrees and it just doesn't idle right, when I put it in gear it stalls sometimes, and it feels pretty sluggish for what it is. It doesn't smoke at idle, only a little black smoke when you rev it and quickly rev it again. I'm just wondering if the injectors could be the problem since I'm using a factory MAF. Should I put a smaller set of injectors in it? Just trying to see if anyone has any knoweledge over this before I go throwing money at it.

Today I changed all the fluids in the drive train. Changed the Trans fluid, Diffs, and Transfer case. Last week I replaced most of the fuel system. New gas tank, new fuel filter and new injectors. Now I can run Ethanol free in it and not have to worry about 25 years worth of crap breaking loose and clogging it up anymore. BTW the truck runs way better with ethanol free gas in it. Its a night and day difference. After a few tanks I will know if mileage has improved or not.

This wasn't today, but from two weekends ago, and I just got around to touching up the photos some.

Went out to the property just to make another voyage post-ZF5 swap, and it went well.

Here's the little lady I rescued when she was just 4 weeks old or so back in May of last year. Not really sure what breed she is:
