I've seen that kind go hazy in just few years unless the truck stayed garaged.
My originals are kind of hazy too, sort of like the rest of the truck, but they still work. They add to the nice aged patina.
New ground wire; solenoid #3 (4?) since they started blowing. This one's for a snow plow... Fingers crossed. The new ground seems to have the whole truck running better, like new. Old one had some resistance...Now all the primary wiring is JLAudio fine core wire, left over from my Miata build. Ends are sealed with silicone wrap.
76 350 which blue led's did you use, or did you scrape the green and use blue led's. I [put the blue led's in my truck and they are not that blue I didn't scrape the green.
Went out and took some pictures today. I'll post up some more if anyone is interested.
How do you like those lights? I almost bought them for the one piece design but got some cheap ebay ones that get water in them even after I sealed them. The light output good?
Spent a bill on gas for Big Blue Ordered a couple hundred$ of parts for the IDI, and got some good headlights I bought off a fellow FTEer on the truck, along with some decent bezels I picked up from the junkyard to replace the old warped ones. Also gonna take Big Blue on a four day road trip tomorrow woo!
As of 5am this morning, I smacked the hell out of a frickin' deer with mine.
Luckily, it just caught its head and knocked it away.
randomly and amazingly, it didn't hurt anything but to crack a turn signal lense (I have a spare set) and it shattered the HOUSING of the D/S Headlight. Lens was intact, and no issues. WTF.
Anyways...I'll fix it when I can.
Oh, and Michelle rolled over to 222,088 miles in the driveway this morning.
You got away lucky, Wes! Glad the damage wasn't too bad.
As for what I did... it was yesterday, but I replaced a two year old MSD coil to fix a no-start condition. I was surprised, I expected the MSD coil to last a little longer.
Cut a hole and had a receiver tube welded into the front bumper...
Replaced my non-period correct bumper with an aftermarket bumper. I either need to find a factory license plate bulb fixture that fits in a smaller hole or grind open this hole.
