I'll try and remember to do that the next time we come through. We spent several days in Lynchburg, Ohio with her brother while we were up there. I'm going to try to do it again within the next 2-3 years.

Yes, I traded my '80 straight across for this truck, and then had my handle changed

that's cool it looks like this truck needs less work then your 80 if I remember correctly. I don't know I haven't been in the bullnose part for a while now since trading our 86 in.

Yeah, this one just needs a little fine tuning, the 460 is a recent rebuild out of another 87, and I have to fix the power window motors, and gas gauge does not work

well you will probably end up loving this thing minus the 460s fuel mileage. The 460 really sucks fuel mileage.

Yeah, the Gear Vendor unit should help Me mileage wise.
Friend of Mine has an '86 with a 460, we went 98 miles, his truck (no OD) it took just over 7 gallons

he is luck to get that we had a 93 F250 4x4 460 with d60 front zf5 and it got 8 constant towing or not. Heck of a truck but fuel mileage sucked. Yours will probably be much better being 2wd and the gear vendor. I am glad you know the fuel mileage there are so many people in the 87-96 part that ask how can I get better fuel mileage from a 460 it just makes me laugh.

This wasn't today but thought you'd all get a kick out of my troubles from last weekend's elk hunt adventure. The front diff was about 4" into the ground. We were driving down a snow covered road and found the deep ruts. Too deep for my little 29" tires and open diffs. Four tire chains, a 48" high lift jack, and several hours of work and she was free without damage.

Wyoming. Could have gone snowmobiling last Friday/Saturday and some guys did. There was a good 18" with deeper blown in certain areas. We were at around 9500' elevation but I heard it was a solid 24" above 10500'

Took the truck for a nice drive running some old couches to the Goodwill. Man does it run nice now. Heater works perfectly and is nice and toasty. And I don't know if it is just my imagination, but the switch to the Rotella has smoothed the vibrations from the engine drastically. Truck fires up really easy as well. But, like I said, could be my imagination...

Could be you imagination, but it can be amazing how much different oils can affect an engine. Could very well be a little smoother.
