Lowering a 2WD 1994 F150

Lowering a 2WD 1994 F150

I was wondering if anyone has dropped an F150 3 or 4 inches up front and a little more in the rear so the the truck sits level without spending $500 on spindles and "kits"? What about finding a shorter spring in a bone yard? Can you successfully "cut" springs? What about the geometry in the front of the truck? The rear seems easy, all I need to do is move the leafs under the axle and use blocks. Just thinking about changing the attitude of the old truck.

Are you lowering a 2wd???? Or a 4x4. First if you were to lower a 4x4 just get a 2wd. If its a 2wd why? Mine is already low!! Especially compared to my dad's 06 2wd lol! I wish I could raise it to get better backwoods clearance, but Ford even with the new 2wd don't think of that. They think everyone will buy 4x4. (who can blame them).

Just wondering what you are doing? From what I know 2wd are the lowest springs on an f150. You could maybe talk to a shop about shortening them or see if there are springs out there the same weight range that are shorter.

If you want to go to the "road truck" or lowered for show style, then I don't know that much about that.

If you want any kind of good ride quality go the spindles and drop springs, When It comes to lifting or lowering done take the easy way out

DJM suspensions offers a lowering kit for the 2wd trucks for aroudn 550 ish. Thave a 3/4 or a 3/5 kit.

i got a 4/6 drop on my 94 f150..... belltech beams with one inch drop springs and a belltech flip kit in the back... and no you cannot cut the springs on a 92-96 f150

that 4/6 drop on your truck looks fantastic! where did you get the kit and about how much am I looking to spend?

To lower a 94 F150 the cost would be under $500 including shocks.

thanks... everything together was about 800.... the flip kit was the most if i remember right which came with c-notches and everything to realign the pinon angle.... then the beams... and i took front coil springs from a lightning to make it another inch lower in the front

Well i dont know man my 1993 F150 is 2wd its not very low it sits higher than 2wd chev/gmc and sits almost same height as 4x4 chev/gmc stock height

f150

I've got a 1992 f150 with a 5" drop in the front and a 7" drop in the rear. I bought shorter coils and dream beams for the front. the beams lowered the truck 3" and the shorter coils droped it 2". I payed around $200 for the coils and the beams from DJM suspension. I used a 7" flip kit for the rear which cost me about $300. Then 4 shocks cost me another $175. so you really cant do any better than the vacinity of $500 if you want quality.

Quick question guys. I just put new tires on my truck and foudn out my alignment is all otu of wack on my front end. The tire shop informed me that I would need new springs as my current ones are sagging (Iforget the term he used), but when I install a DJM complete Kit will the kit come with new springs or can I still use my current springs with the kit.

Would taking a leaf out of the rear springs be a good idea?
I'd like to get rid of my 3" rake...

Just get a set of 2 inch drop shackels. They are about 30-40 bucks. That is what I am going to be doing to mine. Its much easier and you retain the factory payload.

When I did the 4" drop on mine 94, using belltech hangers and shackes I had to drill out 16 big rivets from the frame (4 at each corner of the leaf spring). Drill off the heads, then pilot drill further into the rivets then punch it out. Took a couple days working off an on. get a good 1/2 in drill, and some good drill bits, a drill bit sharpener wouldn't hurt either.
