EDGE stacked? help please!!

ok i got a edge juice w/att. and i was thinkin about buyin a diablo tuner and just use the edge part as gauges. now in my little mind i think it will work but does anybody out there know for shure? im gettin ahold of this diablo dirt cheap just like i did the edge so if they wont fit together i prolly just fleabay um. then get somethin that just about every1 on here recommends . mainly the reason i wanna add the predator is cause it does control added hp/trans stuff. edge will only defuel on WOT shifts. and im not gonna have it on 100hp all the time mostley just the enconomy deal.. so any opinions?

It should work Steve. I have the Juice with A2, and a hard chip. I keep the hard chip because it does provide firmer shifts, but rely on the Edge unit for managing power, defueling protection and gauges.

The set up works well for me. Good luck to you.

I used to have the edge attitude stacked with the Predator, it works and you can still shift on the fly with the attitude and put the predator on any stetting. I left the predator on 60 and changed the edge as I saw fit. That said that set up can't hold a candle to the DP tuner chip and real gauges I run now.

I saw boost #'s of 25, so I would suggest a Over boost Annihilator, to prevent the SES light due to boost higher than stock.

If you can swing it, save the money on the predator and sell the edge, and use the money to buy a Dp tuner and gauges. Thats what I did, way better.

Mixing and matching chips is a dangerous game for your tranny if you plan on using power from both of them. They are both trying to control the same computer, and who knows what combination you'll end up with. If you really have to do this combination, I would only use the edge for "gauge" purposes. Maybe sell them both and get the DP?

Ah yes...another opportunity for everyone with DP's to jump in and advise that anything else, just isn't suitable...totally ignoring that what may work best for them, may not fit our plan or needs.

If you like your DP's then great, from what I've read, I'm certain it's a great product...but some of us don't want a full stack of gauges on the pillar, or we like some of the other features other products provide...or we are content with what we have.

So when a fellow enthusiast asks for assistance, why can't we just offer assistance or share the knowlege he is seeking...if we have it. Instead of always advising he dump what he/she has?

I'm done ranting.

Just providing the options, I thought I wouldn't like the pillar gauges either, but I do.

Thanks Tom. I think we should just focus on the thread at hand and not use it as another opportunity to pimp up DP Tuner. Yes, they are great. I run one and it is far superior to any other chipped PSD I have ridden in.
If you guys want to think back a month ago he got the Edge Juice w Attitude monitor for $200. That is $400+ of tuner right there. He is using the Edge as an interim tuner to pick up a little hp and mileage before he saves up enough money for the $700 DP Tuner install. (Bring on the flames on that one. I know you want to...) So let the guy be! He is doing the smartest thing out there IMHO.

I knew I was going to get flamed for the DP plug.

Sticking to the thread at hand. If you are getting the Predator for less than $100 go for it. More than that, save your money. You have gauges in the edge and some tuning, you may be happy with that. I ran my truck with both and it worked but with the knowledge I have now, it didn't work that well. The combo was a waste of money, run one or the other (unless the Diablo is less than $100 bucks...buy it and sell it for $200 on ebay, or sell the edge for $300 on ebay). Thats what I got for those when I made the switch.

Another thought, get a VB for $250 to help with shifts and then your tranny will be set up for more a little more HP in later mods.

I have both Edge Juice/Attitude and the Evo, you can run most stacked w/Juice/Attitude. They are programmers that trick the PCM into seeing things it really isn't. Not a problem. The issue is your Transmission. Juice/Attitude does nothing with the Tranny except fuel and defuel at WOT. Most I have seen leave the Juice/Attitude as guages and then add another programmer.

I, myself am right now waiting for my EGT, Boost guages to arrive w/ quad pillar. Already have the Tranny guage. 4th hole will be for whatever my next upgrade will be. I will be ordering my DP F-5 as soon as I sell the Juice.

As for the Transmission and Edge, I'm ordering/build date with a BTS is 1 week away. This will be my 3rd trannsmission. ---Larger tires, heat and MORE POWER kills a transmission. Just my 2 pennies.
