Does anyone here have a flatbed on their Superduty? If so can you post some pictures so I can see how they look? I'm thinking of putting one on my 2002 f250 supercab shortbox. I would like to see how they are mounted down also.
Thanks.
I have seen a few, it's not my taste but I don't work out of my truck either. They are either going to bolt down to the frame or mount to a hydraulic piston so it can dump.
Theirs a lot of them my way. I have a 2000 with a Deweze bale bed flatbed and i know of a lot with super cabs and even crew cab duallys with flatbed. I like the looks even better than my 96 with a flatbed imo.
i have a 2000 sd with a dumping flat bed on it, i like it. you can see it in my gallery pictures, by the way when can i post atts. on this site? let me know.
Ive been trying to find a replacement shortbox for my Superduty. Mine is rusted out around the fenderwells. All of the salvage yards ive spoke to want anywhere from 2000.00 to 4000.00 for a different one. Some of them are in worse shape than mine. A flatbed is a better choice for me pricewise. There are all kinds of 8 foot beds on EBAY but that doesn't help me.
I ran a flat bed on mine for a little while. With the six ft flatbed bed the truck doesnt look right.I just purchased a box for mine and painted truck to match. You are right about bed .a bed for a swb is hard to find and expensive when you find them.
Shore - I am getting rust on the bed of my '02 as well. Mine is on top of the right rear well.
Local dealership with a bodyshop told me high $300's to fix. Out of curriosity, what color do you have? I am only noticing this on the dark shadow gray trucks. I was thinking of grinding it out myself, priming and painting then through on some fender flares to hide it.
But it seems the fender flares are as much as it is to fix it.

My truck is a 02. It is 2 tone red an silver. I got a quote from the local body shop, and they told me it would cost around 1000.00 a side to fix mine. And thats before paint and primer. The holes on my box fenderwells are about half an inch each. It had stainless trim around the fenderwells, and I didnt notice the rust when I bought it back in Dec. Oh! It also had one of those drop in plastic bedliners and there is rust in the box floor. My truck was neglected by the previous owners, and now i get to pay for it. Johnson Trailer, Colfax Wisconsin. They have the style of flatbed I am interested in. And the prices are sweet also.
Flatbed question: If I have a short bed, can you bolt down a longer flat bed? Like put an 8 foot on my short wheelbase? Can it hang off the frame in the back, or does it need the frame's support? Same ques. with a long bed, but putting a 9-10 ft flat bed on it.

It could probably be done, but the axle would be to far foward. That probably wouldn't be a problem though if you didn't tow/haul anything...

Haha yeah that would defeat the purpose of the flat bed. Just wondering, I was thinking about when I haul 8ft lumber with the tailgate down, wouldn't a 8ft flatbed be just about the same thing as that.
pretty much and it would take ALOT of weight placed squarely where there is no frame beneth the bed in the far back to damage anything, towin wouldn be effected as the hitch mounts to the frame
