I am in the Monroe News Star

Local news, front page, Sunday paper. Not bad.

http://www.thenewsstar.com/apps/pbcs...14/1002/NEWS17

I am not happy about the rapid-fire line, but the rest of the article I think is pretty decent. Yes, that is a picture of me in my truck with my .45

I have an interview with the local paper in my town later this week.

Since the paper came out this morning, I have had a slight increase in membership of the SCCC for my chapter, good news there.

I am also hoping that I will be contacted by the Shreveport newspaper and maybe a few others since this story ran.

Way to go.
Very good story.
I especially agree with this part!!

"The problem with gun-free zones, said Saurage, is that it pronounces to the world: "This is an area where it's known people aren't going to be carrying (their own) firearms, turning faculty, staff and students into victims."

This victimization wouldn't be necessary, he said, if permit holders could arm themselves.

Saurage described Tech's police force as "amazing, with good response time," but he worries that tragedies, which happen in "seconds, not minutes," leaves students without real defense.

"Statistically speaking, all states with concealed weapons laws have crime rates which have dropped," Saurage said. "You don't have to disarm yourself to make college safer."

I saw on the news tonight you can't carry a gun in a Ruston Wal-Mart! Dude as soon as they said a LA Tech student was arrested for carrying a gun in Wal-Mart, I figured it was you. That's wild. It was making other customers nervous. Good luck with getting it straightened out.

Later.

Yup, it was me!

And hopefully it will be straightened out.

And it is perfectly legal and allowed by wal mart policy to openly carry a firearm, and in LA, legally carrying a firearm is in no way considered 'disturbing the peace'
