I have 00 EX with 179,850 on it. All stock except K&N filter kit. Trans is still pulling strong, have flushed it every 36,000. Best truck I have ever had.

I don't think any of ya'll would make it to the top 50 around here. I'm pushing 247 and know several folks who have me beat. There's some guys over 500, and I saw a van a while back that crossed 1,000,000

Early 99 SC 4X4 with 212,000 first tranny, pulled a lot.

There are a lot of differend opinions about the stock tranny, fact is that tuners and lead foots don't help the manner.
Thats wy there are nice after market options avalable.

BTW did we ever figure out if that VAN was a 7.3 or a gasser??

I think I am a candidate for the least amount of miles with only 47K.

I bought my truck last week and imagine the previous owner used it locally maybe to trailer his boat or something. Even the driver's seat is barely broken in. It was like opening a 6 year old time capsule...

Give me a few years and I will catch up to some of you. I drive at least 45K per year.

I am wondering if there is anything I can do to help prolong the transmission. Those that have gone through one already, have you changed the fluids regularly? Haul anything heavy? Chipped?

Is there a synthetic ATF that might work better?

Prolong the tranny, sure- KEEP YOUR FOOT OUT OF IT!!

But there are mods you can do. Do a search for the transgo, BTS valve body, and of course the weak link is the cheesy torque converter, you can replace it w/ a nice triple disc like I did.
