try this for making your own adjustable pushrod.Simply take an old push rod and cut it about 1 to 1.5 inches from the end. Use a 1/4"-20 tap to cut threads into the open ends, and then screw in a short piece of 1/4-in. threaded rod. Use some nuts to lock the rod in position. Now you've got a adjustable tool that you can use to properly calculate and order the exact length pushrod.or you can buy one for about $20 or so from jegs or ask scotty
Yeah.... I read how to do that last night. Ill probably make one to check things out.
I need to place an order with Jegs to get some little stuff for the build and I wanted to get it all one time.
Scotty said 8.600 would probably be the right size but like he and everyone else is saying I need to check on MY ENGINE. So thats what Ill do and place a second order with Jegs.
Go to http://www.mantonpushrods.com] and download their catalogue. It has a wealth of information on pushrod specs, materials and how to order the proper length. This is the way I went on mine and they did a great job.
its a custom grind from Scotty at RHP (reincarnation-automotive.com) Great guy and great products. Id recommend him to anyone and will deffinately buy from him again. Hes that good.
just shove some 3/8s rebar cut with a hacksaw in the holes. You'll be fine.
I was thinking of that, but figured the re-bar would be too heavy and got too looking at twisting some bailing wire to about a 3/8's diameter just to keep it light and strong.......
