Going with Synthetic what weight?

After searching for a while I see that some use weight of synthetics other than 15w-40.
So when going to synthetics what is the one to use for our trucks.
Living in a mild weather with 30f-110f degrees year span???

I got a good deal, or what I think, on Royal Purple 15W-40. Paid about $78 for 4 gallons.

Why did you choose 5w40?
What would be a problem running 15W40?
Dinikin.

5w40 is thinner when cold for better cold starting, There won't be any problem running 15W40.
