My ford was a total?
Hi I just found out the 06 f150 that I bought was a total loss about a year ago. I"m just SICK
I paid a fair retail price and was told it was never in a accident.
It looks great with no signs of damage BUT-
The dealer I bought it from says "don't worry I will help you out"
WHAT WOULD YOU DO?
THANKS
P.S. I live in N.Y. State

I personally would explore the NY state laws on this particular subject. I'll move this into the NY Chapter forum for you- those guys should be able to shoot a few ideas out; but please do me a favor and not include talk on attorneys and lawsuits (per FTE rules/guidelines).

If it WAS a total loss, and it still has the original VIN number on it, someone played hanky-panky with it.
It's supposed to have a salvage title and a completely different VIN ...
And while we're not supposed to talk legal stuff on the boards, here in the NY chapter it might be OK (Ronin?) ...
If everything else fails, and that dealer doesn't do something for you that WAY more than makes up for it...
Complain to the BBB about the dealer. Whatever brands they sell, write a letter to corporate about the dealer knowingly selling totalled vehicles without full disclosure.
I'm sure, somehow, someway, they either will gladly make it up to you in the first place, or you have legal recourse.
Report back to this thread when you get more information, if I think about it, I'll look into what other people have already done in this circumstance.
There's gotta be a law on the books against this.
