Contrary to what most think the Tundra regular cab DOES NOT offer a 4WD or V-8. If you think they do offer these two go to Toyota's website and try to build one. It won't happen. Right from the largest Toyota dealer in the US:

The only engine available with the regular cab is the 4.0L V6. The V-8's are only available in the double cab and the crew max Tundras. Also, the regular cabs only come with a 4x2 transmission, not the 4x4. The 20" wheels you asked about are only offered as part of a package on the Limited double and crew max cab trucks.

The regular cabs were designed to be just a straight forward truck...mainly for fleet and work purposes. That's why Toyota doesn't offer a lot of options for it. The double cab is the real template Toyota envisioned for the truck. Everything they designed and came up with for the truck was based off of that size vehicle. It's easier going up to the crew max to add options, naturally. But stepping down to a regular cab limits what Toyota can offer just because of size.

Tundra

IMHO a real stupid move on Toyota's part. I think 70% of all light duty ½ tons are extended cabs nowadays but there is still a market for regular cabs. And to see a very limited offer by Toyota in this category is not very smart.

You're mistaken

There's a myriad of people that own them on Tundra Solutions and I test drove a RCSB with 5.7 and sport appearance package a few months ago.

Regular Cab

That was THEN this is NOW sports fans. The Tundra regular cab is NOT providing a 4WD trans nor a V-8 engine anymore.

Why do we care so much about what tundras offer....none of us are going to buy them anyhow....leave the tundras for people who don't really need trucks.....they don't buy regular cabs anyway...

I’ll be the first to admit when I’m wrong. But no need to right here right now because I’m not. Try ordering that vehicle now. It won't happen unless you have your very own Tundra assembly plant. I too am very surprised at the cessation of this model in a 4WD, V-8 set up. Makes no sense to me.
