2000 F-150 4.6 dipstick removal
Hey guys I just bought a 2000 f-150 reg cab short bed with the 4.6 V8 and offroad package. The dipstick tube on the motor broke off right at the bracket where it bolts to the the block. I got the bolt out of the bracket and got the bracket off, but I'm clueless as to how to get the dipstick out of the oil pan. Tried beating it out by banging on the bracket after the truck ran for a little bit to wartm it up but it doesn't seem to budge. I tried pb blaster, vise grips, everything. Is there any tricks as to getting it out or could anybody tell me what I'm doing wrong or what I need to do? Thanks!

IT is a bad design, there is a seam pretty much right at the block. After pulling and wiggling enough it likes to come apart right there. I fought mine and finally saw an idea on here, just punch the lower half through into the oil pan. Buy a new one first and you'll see how big the piece is and where it separates.
