When I lauch hard now, it will spin through 1st and 2nd gear, it looks impressive, but can cost me a race.

OK why not get an 8.8 from a Mustang. Take the measurments for the front mounts of the factory control arms then just build the mounts into the Ranger frame. I should tuck up nicely and not seen unless you get down and look. The stock Mustang set-up can plant some serious power on 10 inch tires. Have seen Mustangs with 460's pull the front up on 10.5 slicks and stock type suspension. You don't have the wieght over the back that a Mustang does but you can move the battery and some other items to the back and put a topper or even a tonneau cover to keep it out of site. Just a thought
