cleaning valley

I want to clean up the valley in my 96 psd. I was told I could clean it with simple green, is that the best way? And if so are there things I should cover while washing?

Simple Green is good, Brake Kleen is good just make sure that the engine is COLD and DO NOT use pressure. Stay away from electrical connections the best you can. Don't forget to cover your 6637 if you have one. Stay away from the RH area of the firewall and inner fender as well as the main cable connections. You may want to cover the Alternator.

Other than that you should be in great shape. If I have missed anything someone will jump in and add it to your list.
