Mine came out to be over $10,000 per year, and I don't really go anywhere.

I know I don't spend $14k a year on vehicles, even including all parts and maintenance, spread across three vehicles. If that was the case, my family would not be eating after cars and mortgage.
I also don't understand how they can come up with a per-mile penalty for concrete barriers interfering with pedestrians and bicyclists, or the property value decrease caused by the roads to get to the property-

Jared you have to see that they are calculating this in an attempt to get you to carpool, Do you think you would have 25K (in my case) in your pocket if you did? Hell no. Alot of that BS is also calculated if you rode a bike. Things like Residential parking? aome on Mike...... Do you think these calculations really add up to this amount?

The great thing is if the price of gas keeps climbing, I can choose to ride the bus everyday to work. I filled the for up 2 weeks ago, still haven't burned through the first tank. The Car I fill up weekly roughly, but I have driven to work 3 out of 5 days. Including last weeks run to Kent and other running around.

The cost breakdown on roads etc, is merely a breakdown of all the taxes we pay to help make the price of fuel higher. 12-14 % are supposed to go for roads...Do they?
