See my thread titled "Did the Zoodad mod today." Basically you cut a hole out behind the grille where the stock airbox snorkel goes to allow it to flow fresh air to the filter. My truck already had the hole there I found out today. It would be a good idea to put a screen or louvered cover over it to keep big stuff and water from getting in.
Its very simple it took me all of 10 minutes to get it done. Just pop the grill off (4 screws up top and pop four clamps at the bottom) then take a hole saw and go to town. Check out Chase's thread and 7point3.com for a better look.
Went to home depot and bought some screen for windows to cover the zoodad with when we are able to do it. Do you think the screening material will work?
Any screen is better than no screen I guess- I have no screen on mine, and routinely see dead bees, lady bugs, etc- all things you would really never see on a stock intake system. I don't think it hurts to NOT have a screen though. The air filter should be good enough to clean up the extra trash you have to deal with in a ram air set-up.
Thanks for all the input...my weekends will be busy now.Now would this help at all with my 3/4 ton 5.4 gasser? That could use all the help it can get. Thanks again.

So there are supposed to be four clips? I popped the outer two and tugged on my grille a bit- it popped out and I heard metal jingling down into no-man's land but I couldn't find the clips and didn't see any marks on the grille for them so I figured it was my imagination.

It works great! Mine has been on for several months now, and has seen many snowstorms, no problems yet
