I put a Big a$$ front bumper on my truck today,
I think the truck is coming along nicely
I need to remove the bottom piece from it and do some finish work, but what do you think?
now I got something to stand on while I'm under the hood
the truck is almost too BIG for my driveway??
it was on the parts truck I bought for $300
someone had put a lot of work into it then stopped and let it sit
they also did a lot of shady work but it was well worth the $ for the parts its yielding
its got either a 429 or 460 in it with a high rise dual 4 manifold
I was told it had been rebuilt before it sat for a long time?
as soon as I saw that bumper I knew it's destiny was the Highboy
That thing is just crying for a winch!!!
Thanks, I have been collecting parts for about a year now for
my 78 Bronco project then this winter I saw the 76 on
craigslist and I traded the guy my 96 s10 4x4 blazer
I have been chomping at the bit waiting for decent weather to get here
so I could jump in head first and start on this truck
I have got a lot done in the past two days,
it just needs to get a little warmer so I can do some body work
I thank you guys for the good words
I cant wait to get more done
You're right, someone put a lot of work into that. Great find. Reminds me of back in the day (WARNING: story from old fart to follow) when a buddy coudn't keep bumpers on his 74 4X4 so he brought me the main beam from a Case 4 bottom plow and told me to make him a front bumper. He never hurt that one, but it sure didn't look as good as yours.
yea that bumper is bent to those angles it wasn't cut and re welded
that parts truck is giving up a lot of good parts
the windshield will be going in the highboy soon
God, I love this truck
