FBI analyzes parachute that may be D.B. Cooper's

http://www.cnn.com/2008/CRIME/03/26/....ap/index.html

SEATTLE, Washington (AP) -- Hoping to solve at least part of a 36-year-old mystery, the FBI is analyzing a torn, tangled parachute found in southwest Washington to determine if it belonged to famed plane hijacker D.B. Cooper.

yeah back in the 80's I think it was, some of the D.B. Cooper money was found washed up in the sand along the columbia river.

In 1980, a family on a picnic found $5,880 of Cooper's money in a bag on a Columbia River beach, near Vancouver. Some investigators believed it might have been washed down to the beach by the Washougal River. But if Cooper landed near Amboy and stashed the money bag there, there's no way it could have naturally reached the Washougal.

He likely died during the jump..well, OK...during the LANDING. Then starved and crazed wolfs ripped his body to shreds, spreading clothing, money, chutes, etc...all over the country side. Poor Mr. Cooper... never to be found.

That's my story and I stickin' to it!

Maybe not....as the article points out, the money was found near Washougal. This parachute was found near Amboy. If this is the Cooper parachte, then the money could not have washed down to the beach near Washougal on it's own, it had to be planted. If the DB Cooper money was planted, then he may have survived the jump.

yeah, this story is pretty interesting.a couple of months ago our local paper did a story on it and interviewed the people that had some of the money. this was the 1st time I had heard about it,I have wondered since then whether he survived the jump and if so,where he is now.
