What are you suppose to use to clean the mass-air sensor?

There is a mass air sensor cleaner available at most auto parts stores.

I use throttle body cleaner and a very fine paint brush, followed by blowing on it till the cleaner evaporates. Be very careful with those filaments.

I've had good luck with CRC brand Mass Air Flow Sensor cleaner (part number 05110) as well as electrical parts cleaner. I used to carefully clean the elements with a cotton swab, but the spray cleaners seem to work just as well. Plus, many of the new MAF sensor elements are recessed to where you cannot easily access them with any sort of swab or brush.
