If you can lift the car enough to access the starter, connect the (+) to the big starter lug (connects directly to the battery) and the (-) to a good frame ground, you should be able to jump start the battery..... Philip

your local towing company should be able to unlock it, just be sure to tell them the battery is dead so they dont waste time trying to push the power lock button. Some auto parts stores sell slim jims, try it in the passenger door that way if you mess anything up its not the drivers door. curve the slim jim slightly toward the inside, insert about 4 inches in front of the interior lock and feel for a vertical rod and pull up. Not going to be easy the first time, requires a lot of practice

Have you tried the key in the passengers door?

Just being a smart a** here since I know the OP finally got into his Explorer............
But are you trying to get into YOUR car???? I tried for 5 minutes one day to get the key to work in mine in the Wallyworld parking lot. It wouldn't work. Then I realized the "stuff" laying in the front seat wasn't my "stuff".......................I was trying to get into somebody elses Explorer...............I guess thats one of the issues of driving a bone stock white one...............there are usually 3 or 4 of em in the parking lot at any given time...........LOL..I need a big flourecent orange flag for the antenna I guess......
