I found my problem was at the vacuum solinoid switch witch was 38.00 bucks from dealer. but I also needed new auto hubs at 300.00 each so I went to the very cheap manuaeul hubs and but a screw in the vacuum line at the solenoid so my climate functions would still work.
I need help on loose vaccum lines to the front hubs on my 2000 4wd F250 SD. It does not seem to have vaccum to them. Any ideas how to correct??
The vacuum system only works on a pulse when you lock and unlock them. There will not be a constant vacuum on the lines. With that being said, first you need to check and make sure your vacuum pump works when you turn the switch on. It will be better to check it first thing in the morning when it's had a chance to bleed down. Raise the hood and turn the switch on and listen for the vacuum pump to come on and cut off after a few minutes. When you get that established we can go on from there.
Welcome to FTE, Joe
If the vac pump is bad or you get a major leak your heat and AC will only come out of the defrost vents. The solenoid is a common problem as well as the hoses getting damaged. I would look at the hoses.
