head crossover delete?

i've got a typical rusted out AIR crossover (back side of heads) on a 94 351. i've already deleted the smog, is there a plug i can use instead of a new tube that i can't actually use? if so, what vehicle do i need to look it up for? i'm sure there is a sbf that didn't use that pipe, i just don't remember what it was. thanks for the help.

I used SS bolts in mine...I wanna say 9/16 bout an inch long...or you can use old spark plugs......Luck

You can use bolt and they'll work fine. Ford does sell thermactor plugs too if you're looking to go that route.

oh, i didn't realize they were threaded! it was still hot when i pulled the tube off, so i didn't mess around back there! i'll def give that a shot, much easier. thanks a bunch!!! jon

What is the purpose of the cross over and is there a need for it?

It's part of the air injection(Thermactor) system, it pumps air into the back of the heads or directly into the cats to help burn off excess hydrocarbons on cold starts.
