my 2001 gets about 325 miles, then time to fill. it might go 350, but the little yellow light will be on. i read 120 miles at 1/4, 210 at 1/2, 300 at 3/4 tank, then go 35 more and refill. thats on a summer run, less in winter.
I'm about dead on with Steve(ill) - same '01 Screw with the 5.4. I usually fill up just over 300 miles and the guage under 1/4 tank. Best average yet was 17.5 mpg on the highway, staying below 70 mph.
You have to remember there are a good 3 different sized tanks depending on which body you have and of course it all depends on how full each individual fills said tanks. I can get 450 miles, most ever was 475 and running on fumes, out of mine but it also holds nearly 35 gallons.
Mine's a 4X4 and its down to 1/4 at about 300 Miles. Today that was $67 Bucks. $3.19/Gal.
They are making it real easy to take the bus!
Hey every cloud has asilver lining..... soon you will be able to save time at the gas station because you wont have to go back to the cashier to get the change back for a $100 pre pay.

Well everytime i fill up nowadays it is $100 . Im jealous of you guys geting 17mpg, i only get about 375miles a tank(30gal). I go through a little under $100 in gas a week, and i only make like $350 every 2 weeks.
At 250 my guage is at empty. Usually about 225 around the 1/4 tank reading. Gets 10-12 around town on 33's. This trucks mpg has sucked since the 4 in lift and larger tires. I have struggled to get 200 before. Improved a little with 4.56s and tuner. At least grandpa is not passing me while I try to get 10mpg. lol Actually is a great improvement as I run with traffic where before the truck struggle to keep up with the slow people. 13.5mpg is is the best in town so far for me.
i get ~280 miles before the light turns on, then i fill up. with the 25 gallon tank, i am averaging 12.5 mpg. 03 f-150, 5.4 l 4x4 with 3.55 ls gears, full exhaust, and cai. i also have a lead foot.
Just did the numbers for the last 10 fill ups on my stock '98 XLT, 4.6, 4X4, w/less than 12K & it averaged out to 14.4 MPG. The maximum possible range, presuming you could utilize the entire 25 gal capacity @ 14.4 MPG = 360 miles. However I seldom go ever 300 w/o refilling it w/19-21 gal. Last fill up was nearly $75.
