My girlfriend has a 2000 Exp that tends to miss or hesitate between 40-50 mph when she acclerates. Idles fine, starts easy. No engine lights come on. She had to replace a couple COP's but the mechanic said they either work or they don't. They wouldn't cut in and out. Any ideas? Fuel filter maybe?
I would try the fuel filter first. Not very expensive to try either. I just changed mine last fall at 96K, I have owned it since 59K and that was the first time it was replaced as far as I know. It may be a mental thing but it seems to run better since then.

your mech is feeding you a bunch of BS
had the same problem w/ mine...wouldnt cut out until i was giving it gas at about 30-40 mph
if you push it hard enough you could get a code
first time it was #4 coil
2nd time it was 7
best change the plug and boot while the mech is at it
FYI...Changed the fuel filter and now she runs like charm. Must have got a bad tank of because the filter only had about 7000k on it. Thanks for all the input and help.
