ANYONE SELLING A 87-91 F-150 4x4 FRAME??

Hello all!

I was just wondering if anyone is selling a frame (rust free) for a 1991 F-150 4x4 with 5.0L and manual trans.???

I would really like to get my hands on a west coast (CA, AZ, NM) frame, which has limited amount of rust...
You see I am from PA and I am a little concerned about the condition of my frame I have on my truck.

Nothing is rotted or rusted, just yet but there is a lot of surface rust on it, and it was sitting for about 8 months to 1 year.

Any help would be GREATLY appriciated!
Thanks,
TONY Z.

Surface rust should not be a problem. These frames are pretty thick. I would worry more about the brake lines. They tend to rust out and pop when you need them the most.. If you have access to a compressor, you can pick up a mini sand blaster for about $40.00. Shoot the frame and recoat it. Should be ok.

Thanks for your reply!
I can say that the brake lines are TOAST already and past the point of no return!

Maybe I should have started a thread stating the infamous question of "which undercoat/POR-15 should I use!"

About POR-15 and similar things, is it neccessary to remove the BIG flaking rust from the frame?

Not too sure on the undercoatings but in my opinion, I would remove as much flakes as I could. If you don't have a compressor, you might want to look in the yellow pages and call some sandblasting shops. Around here, they only charge about $50.00 per hour. You may get the big flakes off quicker then you thought.

I would try to get the big flakes off as well... to me thats like lightly scuffing rust and painting over it but that maybe just me.
