I think I am getting High against my will
Ok, My Lovely (cringe) Mother in Law wants to go Hot air Ballooning for her 60th Birthday. She pops this all on us today and expects us to pony up and go with her. My problem is that I have a LOT of stuff to pay for between now and then (May 19) and really don't want to spend the $$$ on her birthday gift. It is going to be about 200.00 each for me and the Wife. That 400.00 plus the Breakfast before hand will be another 40.00 plus daycare/ babysitting. I am looking at close to 500.00 for her birthday. We all have to pay our own way and It is pretty much manditory. My question is... How would you handle her/this? Now If I asked her to blow 500.00 for my Birthday do you think she would? Hell no. She also gets to go to Hawaii for the second time this year and motorhoming for a couple of weeks. I think she could do without the damn Hot Air Balloon.

my only advice would be break some legs. And I am sure the money has to be up front otherwise I would be getting sick, getting kids, dogs, wife anything sick....orrr you can have a big expensive fix on your truck you cant not avoid (not saying harming it) it doesnt even truly need to exist....eh

...buy a bunch of balloons, have my "step child" blow them up for you, put mom-in-law holding the balloons in the back of your pickup and take her for a drive around the block for her birthday.
Sounds like "hot air" ballooning to me and the price is right.

In some ways I'm glad I don't have to deal with those problems anymore. If you can't afford it you can't afford it but if MUMMY wants/insist to loan you the money just borrow as much as you can get away with with the wife, don't be in a big hurry to pay it back and, then enjoy it. Just because it's mandatory doesn't mean it can't be fun and it'd be great if she starts blowing chunks as it's way differnt than flying in a plane.
