transmission shops
hey all, I am looking for a new transmission (rebuild more than likely) or just getting the one I have rebuilt. It isnt ford, it is a 4l60e out of my parents 95 suburban that will become mine if I can get the tranny rebuilt. I am pretty good with mechanics, but I am not really wanting to even attempt to rebuild it myself. So my question is, does anyone know a good fair transmission shop in my neck of the woods (eastern washington)? I have called several people and they all tell me 1600/1700 to rebuild (pulling and putting it back in) and if I pulled it and put it in myself it'd only save me 200 bucks so blah. it is a 95 Suburban. I have checked all the junk yards aruond me but have no luck.
so I am just looking for a good transmission shop, or if any of you know how to rebuild one :-)
it doesnt go in reverse, and to shift it into second you have to get the rpms up to 2800 then let off the throttle and it shifts into 2nd then 3rd is fine and it wont shift into 4th. Blah

i have raced it against friends, it used to tow a 27ft sea ray long distances and stuff so it has really been through a lot. Used to tow lots of marble. its been through the ringer
but if I ever had to get something for hauling i'd get an f250/f350 anyhow :-) I like them better. i might consider the 2500 suburbans or 1500's. But truck I am partial to the f250's and 350's
