Anybody seen this old 48?

This was my friends old truck.
IM trying to see if anybody has a clue as to its location.
It sold on ebay about a year ago out of southwest VA.
It has a 49 Merc Flat 8 in it.
My buddy had this truck since 1978 and he sold it to a cousin who practicly begged him for it and promised to never sell it.
Well he sold it without this knowledge.

I know I have seen this truck somewhere on the net but can't remember. I think maybe a board member has it but I can't remember for sure.

AAAh, I see that the copycats are crawling out of the woodwork. Right now, even as we speak there's probably people furiously taking large clubs to their pristing sheet metal to give it the proper crinkle finish while the banging is almost drowned out by the rattley clacking of a dozen spray bombs being vigorously shaken by a handful of buddie in a vain attemtp to mock up my unique paint scheme...........

I wish my truck looked as good as that one...LOL

Bobby...... You might want to consider mixing in a can or two of hot-rod primer into your Truck budget........ Then, you can aspire to have a truck as nice looking as mine........

I know what you mean, same thing happened me with a 56. The good thing is, the guy that ended up with it is restoring it, frame up. Good luck on your search.

If you can get the ebay item number that the truck was from him or see if he can pull the invoice up that would be the best place to start. He should have all that if he sold it on ebay.

Sorry the auction info is long gone. We might be able to get the info through his cousin but its a sore topic.
That was the first old Ford I ever drove. My friend thought it was going to a good home and would always be cared for.
It was sold to make a quick buck and now he has no idea where it went.
I was hoping someone here knew about it.
I know its a long shot but hey.

I know I have seen this truck. I have racking my memory trying to remember where I saw it. I am pretty sure I saw it on a page of someone who has two trucks, this one and white one that is modified. Again, I think it migh be someone on this board. The owner might be listed as a owner of a '49 or '50 because that's the one he had when he signed onto the board. You might try searching the members list, there's a lot of '48-50 trucks listed but you could limit your search to owners in states surround VA and members who have a rather number of posts. I would not have looked at their gallery unless they posted on the board. Also, I think it might have been recently, maybe within the last six months or so. I know this doesn't offer a lot of help but I'll keep trying to remember where I saw this truck.

It was taken about 19 years ago.
