for the rod, you need 1/4" just make sure that it is the same thread as the turnbuckles.... i wish that i would have taken more pics and turned this into a tech article.....also you may need to use different stuff depending on the size of the holes on your carb, its not too hard once you get the stuff and youre actually looking at everything under your hood....just remember "patience is virtue"
Only one problem... I've been to Advance Auto Parts, Checker, Autozone, Sutherlands, Lowes... No one carries any of these things. Sutherlands has the threaded rods (not 28 thread depth, but 24), the Insulated Washers, The 1/4" "20 Lock Nuts, but no one knows what a Heim Joint is. I can't find all the parts to make this linkage.
I'll check there. But, I do like the one he made. I just wish I could find the parts. From what I hear, Heim Joints are almost impossible to find, especially here in Cheyenne, WY. I found some online, but they're $23.00 for 2.
Well, we don't have much around Cheyenne for parts like that. We have only 2 or 3 hardware stores here, and no one has them, I've been to each one. I've been to all the auto part stores too, nothing. So, I don't know. MWVDub, if you wanna talk in private, im me on yahoo at German_ford_390_custom@yahoo.com.
