Not a bad idea Sean...we get very little...if any...participation from the Vermonters. The question does come to mind...what can we do to get them involved.

Yep. Not on the schedule. Events are held in one of the parking lots so it's technicaly not a track event. also the Auto-Cross groupe is basicly low man on the totem pole.

www.sccnh.org look under the sutocross section.

You 2 should bring your cars and try it out. I'll give you a penny if you do it in the 350 (you not the other half). Family membership is $25 (or $20 for single person) and the events are $40 for members.

I ran at most of the events last year and plan on the same this year. I missed last years school but I am going to make this years school.

Here is what I am thinking Ken.. If we like roll into a shopping plaza and hang a banner off of a tailgate and start cooking Burgers right there and hand out spotter cards to all the Ford trucks that come there ....Might just work having a bunch of us having a good time at the same tile while there watching us

It's still cold out. You can stand outside cook burgers and talk to yourself while the rest of us are inside or in the Excursion (or 15 passanger Van) Ken will bring.

Ken we have tried Beer, sports, and $ex , but we still end up with the same handfull of attendees..

I say we just consentrate on what the majority wants to do and hopefully the excitement will draw more people..

Do somthing that aint 2 to 3 hours away somtimes and maybe you could attract some of us up that way.Dunno about you but I sure aint driving 6 hours round trip to have a few beers and then call it a day.I can do that right at home. And save the $100 or so it would cost in fuel to get up there.

heck NO!

The last sports game I was at was like 2 or 3 summers ago and it was to a B league (major leag's farm team) baseball game that I was given tickets to.

Tickets to games are a whole lot cheaper when I buy them for my couch.

We've discussed this before...it is usually the same core group of guys at each meet. The idea of moving the meets around New England in order to make it easier for more to attend hasn't been successful. With gas at $3.00+ and diesel at $4.00+ it makes it hard for a lot of folks to travel. We'll have to revisit this subject in the near future.

Shane...we realize that the geography in New England presents challenges...that's why we try to move around the area...and try different things to attract more people. In the past year we have:

1) Had lunch in Keene...about 12 people showed...3 or so from CT...3 from NH...0 from Maine...VT...RI...the rest from MA.
2) Dyno Day in Wallingford...lot's of guys from your club...1 from VT...1 from NH...about 5 from MA.
3) Visited Battleship Cove in Fall River, MA...about 10 in attendance...2 from NH...the rest from MA...no one from CT...VT...ME...RI
4) Visited the Higgins Armament Museum in Worcester...about 10 attended...3 from NH...the rest from MA.
5) Attended the AutoRama show in Boston...about 10 attended...3 from NH...7 from MA.
6) Visited the Basket Ball Hall of Fame in Springfield...again about 10 attendees...even though I was able to get Complimentary tickets for the group...worth $17 each...2 from NH...3 from MA...5 from CT.
7)Did a tour of the Kancamagus Highway in NH...about 15 showed...4 from NH...11 from MA
8)The Red Hook Brewery Tour...lunch and the tour...I think 10 attended.
9) The Big June Bash...about 21 trucks and 50 or so people...a great showing by your club...lot's of folks from MA...a few from NH...1 from VT...nobody from ME and RI.

I think it's obvious from the above list that we don't just drive 2-3 hours...drink a few beers...and call it a day... is at all accurate. We...I... realize that what we do is not for everyone. As you mention...the cost of fuel...gas or diesel is a deterrant. I think you guys have a good thing going...and I hope it continues. One of these days...we will come up with something compelling...and you won't be able to stay away!!! Be afraid...be very afraid!!!

I just wish that the economy would get back on track so people could afford and be free to come to the meets
