Royal Purple.. Power Steering..

Anyone here run Royal Purple EZ MAX in their PS Pump? I was reading an article in one of my mags where they used it and noticed a difference over "stock" fluid.. I know our pumps use Dextron 3..

I'm pretty sure you can.. From what I heard most SD's use Dextron.. I was reading a magazine article and they said moving from standard PS Fluid to Royal Purple EZ Max shows a noticeable increase in Power Steering response with their 35" Tires.. It was on a jeep, but hell it should help us I reckon?

Ive never used RP in a PS pump. But i have used it in my engine. I did use Mobil 1 5w20 syn, and used 1.5 quarts every 3k. Switched to RP 5w20 syn and use only .5 quarts every 3k. I also used royal purple gear oil. I use to have a hum in my rear end at 80+ mph. I add that stuff and the hum went away. So id imagine that the RP would help you with the PS pump. BTW i run commercial Exmark mowers and i use royal purple in them. The mowers use less oil. I switch from penzoil. Hope this helps.

Ill soon be adding RP trans fluid and PS pump.

Thanks

I've been contemplating it.. Anything I can do to relieve that PS pump is important to me.. I know its beat to hell with the 35's, just from reading this article, they recommended it in vehicles that are used hard with 35 or larger. Course this is no substitute for cross over steering and hydraulic ram assist.. Those I'll do later but at least for now it'll cover it..

I did their ATF in my PS system because I had extra laying around. My 35s turn much easier even dead stopped.

If my rear end were humming, I'd join the circus!!!
I put RP in son's 98 Ranger 5-speed manual, it definitely shifted better.
Never leaked later. (The tranny)
