Just got incredible mileage out of my original Idler Pulley. It was making a racket and also a high pitched whistle when cold. After it warmed up, it was fine. But I went ahead and changed it out yesterday. Get this: 347,585 on the original Idler Pulley!! Wow! Love this Expedition!

North Carolina 350K and an original owner! I was wondering where people got all these low mileage ones used. Mine is a 2003 Eddie now with 263,000 miles. I bought it new 13 years ago. Started with the wife driving then two boys. Good vehicle for kids to start with. Safe and no fun to hot rod then they realize if they press the pedal too hard it takes all their gas. It's back to being mine full time now. Only problems until yesterday was a brake booster hissing and an alternator. No oil leaks. AC still works. I use Valvoline High Mileage which is synthetic blend. Yesterday it failed to start. Pulled the fuse box and working on replacing fuel pump relay. It'll be going again soon. Reupholstered the front seats, put alligator embossed vinyl in the center section. I think it's cool but that's me. I plan on cleaning it up and semi-retiring it and using it when I need a truck, to tow, or carry people. Went on a lot of TCU football road trips in it. Have towed some but not all that often. Oh and I had the rear end grinding in reverse a few years ago. Put two tubes of synthetic additive and changed the fluid and sure enough the noise went away. No need to rebuilt rear end.

Another NC owner. Just hit 180K in my '03 XLT 4x4 with the 5.4. New front brake pads, oil change, and I'm off and running again. My daily driver for 13 years, this SUV has done everything I've ever asked it to do, and has been tremendously reliable once I got a few kinks worked out (ie. clutch packs) under warranty. As much as I want a new F-150, I can't give up on this vehicle, which is as close to free as any form of transportation can get (outside of a 13 year old Corolla)...

2004 Expedition 4x4 XLT
UPDATE
Currently near 216,000 amazingly with no major work done. I believe we had one coil pack replaced couple years ago and I replaced fuel filter once.
Everything still original except tires and batteries. We are on third set of tires and third battery. I have done all routine maintenance. This is wife's daily driver. Purchased vehicle in 2005 with 15,000 miles.
