To unplug or not to unplug?

Hello, What happens if you unplug the annoying chime black box? Except for peace and silence, is there any ill effects if you unplug it? I just don't know if it controls any other fuctions.

you'll be fine. my dad bought the truck brand new in 95 and now i'm 16 and he gave it to me. i got tired of it so i unhooked it. unbolted it and smashed it on the ground. the smashing on the ground isn't needed. lol but i got my revenge on that annoying thing. and the truck still runs normal. just gotta make sure you don't leave your lights or nothin on because you now won't be warned

Up under the dash to the right of the go pedal. Its mounted high up with a gray plug that probably has 6 to 8 prones on it. The box is about 3" wide and a inch deep. I was reading about the keyless entry and whether you have it or not. I don't and could see where its was supposed to be mounted. If I had the keyless box, the chime box would be behind it. good luck!
