Hey, I just bought a 2002 F-250 5.4 L. It has a plow spring in the front so, it sits alittle higher, so I have been told. I do not want a leveling kit because it seems pretty level, so if I leave the stock wheels, what is the biggest tire I can get on it without rubbing??? Thanks for the help.
With stock wheels anything wider than a 285 (11.5") will rub the leaf springs. We put 295/75R16 Nitto Terra Grapplers on my Dad's truck and they rub a little.
285/75R16 is about a 33x11.50
295/75R16 is roughly 33.5x12
I have the 295/75/16 and had no rub before I put the leaveling kit on.
You should be fine with them, but you will find a lot more tires in the 285 than you will 295. I went with the 295's because I wanted big as I could get and I love my Nittos.
Other thing to think about is I am not sure if anyone makes the 295 in a load E. Maybe BFG's.
I guess I will try those out...any places on the internet with great deals that you guys know of??? I have shopped around but they all seem to be about the same $
If you want to put on aftermarket wheels a 305 70 16 fits nice I put them on 16x10 wheels they stick out about an 1 1/2 from the wheel well but look sweet
I use discount tire. I don't know where you are from but I am guessing ther is one close to you. Find the cheapest price for certain tire and they will match it. There service is great and you get free rotations for the life of the tire.
