OK has anyone out there had the Opportunity to put a real dyno'ed engine on the Desktop Dyno to see just how close they really are.

I did a few years ago with my buddies 521 that dyno'ed out at 828 H.P.
and on the desktop it came out to 821 H.P. So I have always felt the numbers I get from my desktop dyno would be within reason give or take a few H.P.'s.

 

I was skeptical about it and used it the other night my motor dynoed at 380hp and I used the program and it came out to 370 but that did not account for some added machining and porting on my motor so I seams to be pretty accurate.

So then are you happy with your motor and the way it turned out? Had you ever wished you had played with it on the DeskTop Dyno before hand, and if you did would you have build it any differant...

 

I did wish I had it before hand, but I did spend some time playing around with it. I did find for the type of driving off-roading and towing especially in the mountains my current engine choices were right on. but I no longer live in the mountains and the truck does not venture off road anymore so some changes may be in order. I am going to use it for my BroncoII build up.

Yes it runs on Win98. I have it and it works well.

If you are into building motors and want to try differant combo's yes it's worth every penny ..

 

i got the cam disk, and that really makes it easy to try different cams.

 

Just want to add that Dyno2000 only displays 2000 RPM and up. The older versions show results from idle.

 

OK so just what can you do with your motor other then Idle under 2000 RPM's.Under normal driving your motor turns 1500 to 2000 RPM's or better to get you moving and cruising is usally at 2250 RPM's or better at 55 MPH, Depending on what gears you have.

 

so what heads do you chose for cleveland 4v heads with 2.25 valves?

And for Clevland heads you use the Canted valve heads ..
