1993 f150 4x4 AT with OD. While pulling a travel trailor out of mudd transmission fluid started coming out above or around the bell housing/fly wheel. I was told that it is the Transmission seal blown.
How difficult is it to remove and replace?? Any pointers?? Is the torc converter bolted to the flywheel???
Thanks
Does it still leak? There is a seal that will get soft when it overheats, but once it cools down it usually seals again.
IF you do need to change it the trans needs to come out. The torque converter is bolted to the flex plate. You should get a shop manual to give you step by step instructions.
Mark,,, Thanks so much for your help!! I put 3 qts of fluid back in and so far NO LEAK. Its not full but it should be enough to leak if it is going to. I've never heard of a seal re-sealing before, but it appears that way. Your an asset to this site.....
