I agree with everything said here, it's definitly a vehicle thing, and it's definitly an age thing.

My Ranger was a cop magnet...I'd get pulled over for stupid little things, or my personal favorite, a week before I sold it I drove it from Dallas to Austin and back. On the way back I had a state trooper pass six cars to get behind me, then tail-gated me for 15 miles waiting for me to drift at all over the speed limit (construction zone). Since I've gotten the Explorer, I've gotten not a single strange look from cops.

Plus, remember if you're in a college town, the cops know that every vehicle has a good chance of being college kids doing something dumb. If you're university has parking passes on the windows like mine does, it's a big red flag for the police. They see you doing something stupid, they're gonna nail you, try to catch you while you're young.

I've been lucky, between the Explorer, flying, and having three vehicular-accessible areas to play around near here, I've managed to keep more than clear from both the university and city police.

Mallo, the V1 is amazing if you have $400 laying around. Put one up in my truck and it's saved my *** multiple times. However, my bro got shot with laser in Illinois and he got a whopper of a ticket.

So if you want the best for everything (including laser) you should get the V1. Just remember the V1 will pick up all lasers, but by that time you'll be screwed.

Haha not a problem. Best mod you could do though! There are two other videos that I had never seen until after I posted the link by the same guy. They're pretty interesting as well.

You might want to do some research into the Escort Passport 9500i but it's $50 more than the V1 and probably offers the same performance. The only plus is you can mark out signals because of the GPS, and the fact that it'll tell you how fast you're going.

Lots of people say the GPS is just Escort's way of trying to get something that will even compare to the arrows (which work pretty awesome actually). The arrows themselves along with the numbers have actually saved me before where had I had my old Passport 8500, I probably would have been pulled over or gotten a close, close call.

Hmmm.... you can do a google search for like "radar detector test" and there are 2-3 links that will do some shootouts between them. The v1 always scores high in the pack but when the 9500i first came out and I was interested in learning about them there weren't too many reviews on them.

You can use sites like eopinion.com and do some research there.

Here's one of my own videos picking up a K or Ka band (I can't remembe off the top of my head) from a Motorcycle cop driving down the highway. I was probably doing the speedlimit lol so about 65 once I heard it go off.

It beeped a few times after I turned the camera off. It went blank for a sec or two and then beeped, then did it again.

nice video..that thing was beeping for a long time..that radar had to read about 2 miles down the road..i think i might get one of those..but is it illegal to have one in your car and you get pulled over and the cop see it..or you just suppose to hide it before he walk up to your vehicle lol

It's not illegal unless yo're in like Virginia or Canada, and I think one more state in the US. I know Georgia is in the clear though.

I pulled mine down when I got pulled over in the neighboorhood for something stupid (cop pulled me over as I was leaving. Said I flipped off the neighbors - didn't do that).

They are, however, more likely to give you a ticket if they see it. You gotta be real slick, and I bet you have a dark enought tint they might not be able to see through it if you pull it down. You can always do a test run with someone making that motion when standing behind before you buy if you want to.

I'm 18 with an 04 SB Lightning, but I'm white and I deal with that stuff too. I get pulled over for the littlest things. It's more about being that age with a nice, loud truck, then being black IMO.

I've never been to Georgia though, so maybe you're right.

I take that very same approach and it hasn't let to more than a written warning for me.

Glad to hear that you didn't get your license pinched. Can't add too much to what's already been said. But if your vehicle draws attention in any way, well basically the nail that sticks up gets hammered down.
