I'm in the process of putting in a 351m into my 85 f-150 that had a inline six. I have gotten the following problems corrected already.
engine
engine mounts
tranny and mounts
electrical system
driveline

the only problem is i need to know what year make and model truck i should tell the autoparts store so i can get a raditor that will keep the engine cool. I would like a 4 core due to the fact I will be doing a lot of playing in the mud with this truck.

if anyone else needs advice on this kind of upgrade let me know I have information on most of the problems you will run into. I just haven't gotten a answer on the raditor yet.

31X 10.50 X 15 mud tires
8.8 rear end (might be spooled in the near future)

 

I know that 85 F250s came with 460s stock. I don't know for sure whether a radiator for an F250 will fit in an F150 but I suspect that it would. I'd go for the big block radiator that came with the trailer towing package.

 

I found one at a local hole in the wall autoparts store we looked it up in the books and found out the f-250 raditor will work all i have to do is re run the c-6 tranny lines. instead of bottom connections i have to convert it to side connections.
